Hark Thrice

The celebrated jumping editorialist of Madison County, Virginia, Hark Thrice has written for the Reader since his death in 1910.

Carolyn Purcell

Carolyn Purcell is a sixth-grade teacher at Walkerville Middle School. She enjoys cooking, shopping, bicycling, and target shooting.

Sam Lee

Sam came to Oregon in 1993 with no useful skills. He had no choice but to work on the Internet. He now maintains the Walkerville Weekly Reader web site and occasionally writes for it. He also believes very strongly that the grassy knoll killed President Kennedy. Grass, man. Grass always gets blamed for everything.

Shaheen Hamedi

Shaheen emigrated to the United States when his family got on the wrong side of the government of Iran. He moved from Virginia to Oregon after an altercation involving a crazed anti-gun activist. Shaheen carries a firearm in the United States because he saw the need for it under the Shah.

Stephen Price Blair

A relative newcomer to the beltway, Stephen brings with him his father’s pen and a driving ambition to work at the highest levels of power.
